Windows picture viewer on Windows 7 opening blank and not displaying pictures.

This one took a while –

Check under c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers that you have a folder called ‘color’ and 10 or so files in there.

If not, it’s probably been deleted after some print spooler ‘maintenance’.

If this folder or the color profiles are missing, windows photo viewer cannot display pictures. Copy this folder from another PC & restart spooler.

I have no idea why. But such is life.
